How does Moore describe Shani in The Other Wes Moore?

For much of the early part of the book, Wes describes Shani, his "baby sister," as "crying hysterically" and occasionally quieting down to "play with her shoestrings."
When she is a little older, Wes describes Shani as "a prodigy" who "didn't go outside much," but "seemed to have a book with her wherever she went." Wes says that Shani overtook him in reading scores when he was in fifth grade and she was in third grade.
There are two notable incidents in the book involving Shani. One is when she is punched in the nose by another girl, named Lateshia. Wes notes that Shani doesn't fight back. The second is when Wes accidentally hits Shani in her bottom lip, causing it to bleed. Shani takes advantage of the situation, smiles "slyly," and tells their mother that Wes hit her.
Later Wes tells us that Shani grew up to graduate from Princeton University in 2001 and then went on to attend Stanford Law School "on a full scholarship."
