The technology of the Neolithic Era began to rapidly improve compared to the previous eras. Developments in structures and housing happened during this time, as Gobekli Tepe was developed as the first permanent worship site in the entire world, and eventually brick housing was developed. To build Gobekli Tepe and similar sites, stone carving was developed, particularly carving limestone since it was softer than materials like flint, which could be used to chisel and carve.
Pottery and kilning were created and are used as delineations for the Neolithic age (Pre-pottery Neolithic ages A and B, and then Pottery Neolithic). Additionally, tools and weapons were developed exponentially in this time period. Of particular interest are projectile points (e.g. arrowheads, sickles and farming blades, millstones, bone carved tools, and similar items). Beads and other decorative pieces were created, such as figurines and statuettes, which have been discovered throughout the world during this time period.
Clothing was made primarily of animal skin; however, there is evidence that implies cotton and wool may have begun to be used at the end of this Age. Some tools have been discovered that resemble needles and shuttles for weaving or sewing, but they are unconfirmed.
