Yes, Bruno does indeed have the dubious honor of meeting history's most notorious mass murderer. He's the special guest at a dinner party thrown by Bruno's parents at their new house in the grounds of Auschwitz. It was Hitler himself who'd conferred upon Bruno's father Ralf the "honor" of being Commandant at Auschwitz, and the Führer clearly just wanted to pop by and see how he was settling in.
Bruno's none too impressed with "The Fury," as he calls the Nazi dictator. He comes across as the rudest man he has ever met, and given the fierce level of competition on offer from most of the adults that he meets, that's no mean achievement. Eva Braun, however, is much more to Bruno's liking. As well as being a strikingly beautiful woman, Hitler's girlfriend is kind to the children, and such kindness isn't something that Bruno's used to from the adults in his life.
