Who is Miss Hennipen in Hoot?

Miss Hennepin is the vice principal of Trace Middle School. Readers are introduced to this character in chapter two of Hoot. The chapter begins with Roy seeing the running boy again, and Roy immediately tries to give chase. Unfortunately, Dana gets in the way and tries to establish his dominance again. Roy isn't having any of it, and he punches Dana in the face in order to give chase to the boy. Roy is eventually knocked out when he is hit in the head with a golf ball. When Roy returns to consciousness, the story picks up in Miss Hennepin's office. She is questioning Roy about punching Dana in the face. That's something that schools frown upon, and Dana claims that he is completely innocent. Roy defends his actions and also rebuts Dana's innocence. Fortunately for Roy, Miss Hennepin is not stupid. She is fully aware that Dana is not an innocent babe of a child, and she does find fingerprint marks on Roy's neck from Dana's bullying. Roy is relieved to know that she believes him, but she also has to give some kind of punishment. Roy is suspended from bus usage for two weeks.
