What did people do to fight aparthied?

In the fight against South African apartheid, there was a diversity of tactics used to fight against this racist, oppressive system. Within South Africa, many black South Africans chose to rise up in arms against the apartheid system. People used violent (I am using this term objectively, not as a judgement against the tactics used) methods such as assassinations, blowing up buildings, and hand-to-hand combat in the streets against police and military to fight against apartheid. University students and others often participated in non-violent civil disobedience, protests, and direct actions agains apartheid laws, like the curfews, pass laws, and segregation laws. Massive strikes occurred that were brutally oppressed. Internationally, people marched and held protests against apartheid and pressured governments to remove their support of the South African government.
