How does Uncle Carlos live compared to Starr and her family?

Starr’s maternal uncle, Carlos, works as a police officer and detective in the police force alongside Officer Brian Cruise Jr. (One-Fifteen). Thus, he lives a more comfortable life than his family. Uncle Carlos helped his sister, Lisa, to raise Starr, while Starr’s actual father was in jail. He lives in a suburban, gated, higher-class ,and predominantly white neighborhood, which is practically the polar opposite of Starr’s home in Garden Heights—a predominantly black, lower-class community.
Starr is very close to Uncle Carlos and sees him as a father figure, but her father (Maverick) thinks that his brother-in-law should not be a role model for his children, as he is constantly trying to teach them to assimilate to white culture instead of teaching them to embrace their identity and individuality.
