What is the summary of chapter 6?

In Chapter 6, the We're Here runs across a cattle boat, and Disko yells at the skipper of the other boat for hogging the sea lanes. Then Salters exchanges words about farming with a man on the cattle boat until Disko steers the ship away from the cattle boat. Disko and Salters continue to fight about whether Salters should've brought up farming while on a boat—something that Disko wishes Salters had not done.
Finally, Long Jack tries to make peace between Disko and Salters. Long Jack starts telling a story about Counahan, the skipper of a boat called Marilla D. Kuhn. Counahan, referred to as Counahan the Navigator, is, as Disko says of Salters, not one who can "keep things separate." Counahan does not keep rum separate from his crew, but he manages to approach the Irish coast in a record 14 days out of Boston Light. Manuel then tells the story of taking a ship all the way to the African coast. Harvey is amazed that a schooner can make it all the way to Africa, and then Disko tells the story of how he was born in Greenland. The spat between Disko and Salters is then forgotten.
Harvey then observes the men fishing along the Grand Bank. The men use a device called a squid-jig with pins to capture squid to use as cod bait. They are coated with black ink as a result. They encounter a ship called the Carrie Pitman, and the crew of the other ship wants to trade for squid, but Disko cannot agree to a price. Disko then sends Dan and Manuel to buoy their cable, and they get into a verbal sparring match with the crew of the Carrie Pitman. After a while, the Carrie Pitman sets sail and lurches at Disko's boat, but the Carrie Pitman passes them by as the crew of the We're Here hurls insults at the other crew. This chapter provides colorful detail about life aboard a schooner.
