Compare and contrast several aspects of North America versus Latin America (could include history, physical geography, economy, culture, etc.).

North America, or to be more exact Anglo America, refers to the regions of the American continent that were colonized by England. These include the U.S., Canada parts of the Caribbean etc. Colonists from England and other parts of Northern Europe brought with them Protestant values and the English language.
Latin America refers to Western Hemisphere nations colonized by the Spanish or the Portuguese. They brought their respective languages and Catholicism. They also brought Southern European values in contrast with the ones brought to places like the U.S.
All European colonists were met by vibrant Native cultures from hunters and gatherers to urban city dwellers. European settlers brought disease, modern weapons and betrayal to seize power over both regions in question. In Latin America, Europeans and Indigenous peoples produced multitudes of offspring. Many times as the result of rape of Native women by European settlers. This didn't occur among Anglo settlers in large numbers.
These differences also resulted in stability in government for the U.S. and Canada, while the turmoil and informality from Spanish society has seen frailty in Latin America. Be it week presidencies in Mexico or inefficient dictatorships in the rest of the continent. However these dictatorships are also the doing of the U.S.'s imperialistic paternalism inherited from the British Empire.
The continent of America home to this rich historical heritage, also has immense biodiversity. The frigid north with its arctic tundra in Canada. Grasslands, forests and deserts from the U.S. through Mexico. Mountain ranges stretch throughout both Anglo and Latin America. Showing how the borders are artificial settler constructs. To the south starting in Mexico and stretching all the way to the Amazon we find lush, humid rain forests. And finally Patagonia an quasi-antarctic paradise.

North America and Latin America represent two different and overlapping concepts. One is a continent, the other is an ethno-cultural region.
North America is a continent: a geographic landmass defined by the naturally occurring boundaries of continental crust. By contrast, Latin America is an ethno-cultural region: an area that straddles the continents of North America and South America and is primarily defined by a variety of human characteristics including, principally, language.
The continent of North America consists of three major, sovereign nation-states: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. A number of island states in the Caribbean Sea are also part of North America. Languages spoken on the continent of North America include Spanish and French; however, the dominant language is English.
The ethno-cultural region of Latin America consists of nearly two-dozen sovereign nation-states, some of which exist in the continent of South America, and others of which (including Mexico and Cuba) exist in the continent of North America. Languages spoken in the ethno-cultural region of Latin America are dominated by those with a Romance origin, notably Spanish with a large Portuguese-speaking population concentrated in Brazil.
Both the continent of North America and the ethno-cultural region of Latin America were heavily colonized by European explorers beginning in the 15th and 16th centuries, and the religions and legal systems now employed in the states that occupy these areas are descended from European traditions as a result.
