In order to write a case study for a psychology class on an achievement-oriented person (or on any other subject), first be sure that you understand and follow the format that your instructor requires, as there are many different styles in use. The format of the case study itself will act as a guideline to help you structure your work.
It is also crucial to have a clear purpose for your study. Are you trying to find out what motivates your subject to be achievement oriented? Do you want to examine what what this person has (or does not have) in common with others in published studies or established theories on the subject?
Before you can begin writing, you must find a suitable individual who will agree to be interviewed in depth, unless your instructor will allow you to base your work on the life of a well-known person about whom a great deal of information is readily available.
Case studies typically include detailed background information. Nearly every aspect of a person's life is analyzed in order to find patterns of behavior. Have a good look at published case studies, especially those related to achievement or any others your instructor may suggest as examples. Be sure to to use APA style for your references.
